UN Open GIS develops cloud-free satellite imagery

United Nations Open GIS group has announced the development of ‘Cloud-Free Satellite Imagery’. The initiative is supported by Finland and project leading by Mr Pekka Sarkola (@posiki) of GISPO (@gispofinland) is to change analyze during the cloud covering period (i.e. rainy season) for UN field operations.

UN Open GIS Initiative, established in 2016, is to identify and develop open source GIS bundle that meets the requirements of the United Nations (UN), taking full advantage of the experience of the contributing partners.

The duration of Cloud-Free Satellite Imagery project is Oct 2020 – Mar 2021.
